2L Installation
Erection sequence
1)
Mark out position of partition layout on floor using a chalk line
between set points.
Mark corridor runs first, then work back
to walls.
If fixed to underside of suspended ceiling
or structural ceiling, mark out on ceiling then plumb down to floor
and mark out on floor.
2)
Fix "Floor track" to floor, "Wall channel" to
walls and "Head track" to structural ceiling, (floor to
ceiling), with 6mm hammer fixings, (HF) at approximately 500mm centres.
If fixing to steel work use self drill, self tap screws, (SDST)
at approximately 500mm centres.
For freestanding installations, "Heavy duty head track"
is used in place of "Head track"
"Floor track" can be site mitred or notched at corners
and intersections.
Leave 950mm gap for single doorways or 1950mm
gap for double doorways. No connecting splices are used.
Head track corners and Heavy duty head track
corners are factory made and connected to straight lengths with
a splice. Straight lengths similarly connect to each other with
a splice.
3)
Fit "Adjustable feet" to panel bottoms and lift panels
into position into "Floor track". (If fixed at head, lift
panels into head then over "Floor track" then down). Position
panels and doorframes as required. "Door frame angle bracket"
is fixed to floor with HF or SDST depending on floor construction.
Each panel is levelled by turning the bottom
adjustable screws. Ensuring that the locknuts are locked together
at bottom of "Adjustable foot".
Panels and doorframes are connected together
using "Spacer and connector keys", (SCK3)
at approximately 400mm pitch. Pack joints if required, (all fire-rated
and acoustic partitions), with mineral wool, then friction fit "Pilasters"
(PL2) to all joints.
4)
90º and 135º corners are finished using angled pilasters,
clips and brackets. Three-way junctions are achieved using brackets,
spacer and connecting keys and standard pilasters.
5)
At "Wall channels" where a full panel is being used, fit
"Wall channel angles" (WCA) to the panel edge and insert
panel into "Wall channel".
6)
At "Wall channels" where a cut panel is being used, measure
the gap, mark the panel and carefully cut. Fit "Filler channel
inner" (FCI) to cut edge and insert panel into "Wall channel"
7)
Locate two "Floor trim clip assemblies" (FTC) in void
below each panel. Connect "Floor trim" (FT) each side
by inserting FTC into FT return bends, (deeper folds uppermost).
Cut FT to length and join by sliding in a "Floor trim splice"
(FTS). Use die-cast corners where necessary.
8)
Fit door leaves to doorframes and fit all furniture.
9)
Measure and fit glass of required type into prepared openings.
10)
Touch up any damaged paintwork and clean glass and partitions.
11)
Clean site.
12)
Fill in any necessary documentation including obtaining customer
approval.
