Installation
Erection sequence
1)
Remove packaging from the door leaf and frame and check for damage.
2)
All 3 sided door frames are fitted with travel (spacer) bars at
the base. This should be removed prior to installation.
3)
Offer frame into structural opening.
4)
Plumb frame and wedge into position (equal gap to each side) ensuring
the head member is level.
5)
Drill fixing hole for the top and bottom fixing position
in each vertical member.
6)
Insert 4 fixings and tighten until frame is held in position, re-check
and adjust as necessary using shims/spacers between frame and brickwork
and then fully tighten fixings. Do not over tighten as this may
distort the frame.
7)
Hang the door and ensure it is hanging plumb. Gaps are nominal 3mm
hinge side - 4mm lock side - 3mm at head.
8)
Drill through remainder of fixing holes in frame and insert fixings.
Generally 4 fixings per verticle section are provided, oversize
frames will include additional fixings and double door frames will
include 1 fixing in the head member.
9)
Fix ironmongery as required, doors will be factory prepared for
morticed items such as locks but surface mounted items including
door closers and panic bolts will require site drilling and securing
with self tapping screws or machine screws.
10)
Mastic seal joints between structural opening and frame (mastic
not supplied).
Note : Intumescent mastic
should be used on 'fire rated' doorsets.
11)
Plastic filler plugs are provided to fit fixing point holes (concealed
fixings).
12)
Check door and ironmongery to ensure easy and efficient operation.
