METHOD OF BUILD

Ultrastor Installation

Erection sequence

1)
For wall-to-wall installations, mark position of front of units on ceiling then plumb down and mark out on floor.

For stand-alone installations, mark out position of carcass layout on ceiling then plumb down and mark out on floor.
(Outside measurement for "Top fixing" (TF) is carcass width + 4mm)

2)
For wall-to-wall installations, cut TF to length to fit between walls. Join straight lengths with "Top fix splice" (TFS) as required and fix to ceiling. Cut wall channel to fit between underside of TF and 107mm from the floor and fix to wall. Cut "Floor base channel" (FBC) to fit between walls and fix to floor. All of the above are fixed with 6mm hammer fixings, (HF) at approximately 500mm centres. If fixing to steel work use self drill, self tap screws, (SDST).

For stand-alone installations, assemble 2 "Top fix corners" (TF90°) together using a splice and 4 SDST. (4 TF90° are required per stand-alone run).
Fix TF90° assemblies to ceiling at both ends of layout. Measure then cut "Top fixing" (TF) to fit between TF90°. Wall channels are not required.

3)
Fit shelf bracket assemblies into 6mm holes in inner groove of both panel uprights, top and bottom of panel), and cast screw housings into hinge positions in outer groove of panel upright, (front edge of panel only).
For stand-alone installations this is done to the end panels.
(For installations with more than 1 unit, intermediate panels are required. These have shelf bracket assemblies on both sides of the panel).
Fit 2 "Adjustable feet" (AF) to each panel. Provisionally set the feet to 64mm from bottom of foot to bottom of panel.

FBC is fitted beneath AF of panels at front only for wall-to-wall installations and front and sides for stand-alone installations.

For wall-to-wall installations only, determine position of unit(s) then measure and cut abutment panels for both ends of installation.

4)
Place panels in void between TF and wall with shelf brackets facing each other. Offer top shelf to brackets of one panel, ensuring that back panel extrusion is to rear of installation and that both brackets locate in lugs on the edge of the shelf. Repeat for next panel tightening screws on brackets if necessary. Offer bottom shelf to assembly ensuring that back panel extrusion is to rear of installation and push down onto brackets at all 4 corners. Adjust AF to ensure that assembly is level. Repeat process along installation for subsequent units.

For stand-alone installations, the end panels are fitted into the TF90° and into the FBC. All other installation is as above.

5)
Fit plastic extrusion, Part A, to outer groove of both panel uprights at rear of unit. Offer back panel into extrusion on top and bottom shelves, then push panel into extrusion part A. Fit plastic extrusion, Part B, into part A, this is a clip fit and will hold the back panel in place.

6)
Partially fit ½ inch No. 6 screws to all 3.5mm holes in faces of panels. Offer slotted uprights over screws with large holes facing to the front or rear edge of the unit and tighten screws.

7)
Partially fit ½ inch No. 6 screws to holes in overpanel. Lift overpanel into TF then locate screws into slots on front of top shelf.

8)
Fit hinge bodies to cast screw housings on front of unit. Offer door leaves to hinges, ensuring that hinge body locates firmly into hinge cup of door leaf before tightening retaining screw. Adjust doors for level using hinge adjustment screws.

9)
Fit all required internal furniture. Shelves, filing frames etc.

10)
Fit lock barrel to live leaf of unit then fit locking pins to top and bottom shelves. Use action of lock to ensure that lock hook will activate when lock barrel is turned.

11)
Locate 2 "Floor trim clip assemblies" (FTC) in void between FBC and bottom shelf below each unit. Connect "Floor trim" (FT) each by inserting FTC into FT return bends, (deeper folds uppermost).
Cut "floor trim to length and join by sliding in a "Floor trim splice" (FTS).
FT is fitted to all visible sides of the installation.

12)
Touch up any damaged paintwork and clean units.

13)
Clean site.

14)
Fill in any necessary documentation including obtaining customer approval.
